Christina Freiman DNP-P

Board certified and doctorally prepared Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner across the lifespan in New York.

About Christina

I am a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatry with a Master of Science in Nursing from Columbia University.

I have always had a passion for health science and psychology. While working on my undergraduate degree at Binghamton University, I pursued psychology. I had an opportunity to do research for a nurse practitioner and loved the versatility - research, teaching, and clinical practice. She inspired me to pursue nursing, and I started with becoming a Certified Nurse Aid. From there I worked my way up to becoming a nurse practitioner.

As a registered nurse I worked at a residential treatment eating disorder center. It was there that my interest and passion for the treatment of eating disorders began. I integrate a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy into my practice daily.

My clinical experience involved a placement at an outpatient behavioral health clinic where I worked with adults across all diagnoses. I had the opportunity to assist with the medication management of a co-occurring substance use and mental health intensive outpatient program through Trinitas Hospital in NJ. Following my experience at Trinitas, I worked at Four Winds Hospital with the 12-17 age group range for approximately 14 months. I have experience prescribing psychotropic medication to clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as well as clients with an Intellectual Disability.

I believe that psychiatry is everywhere and the integration of the mind and body is a powerful thing. Together we will navigate managing your mental health through medication recommendations, which may include natural supplementation as well. I believe in the importance of psychoeducation so clients can feel empowered understanding their diagnoses and medication regimen.

Insurance & Billing

Lifespan Mental Healthcare is an out-of-network organization. We are not contracted with any insurance companies. The names of providers may appear in insurance company searches due to other hospital affiliations, but only applies to inpatient level of care.

Superbills will be provided at request, which may reimbursed if out of network reimbursement is offered by your insurance company. This is plan specific. Please call your insurance company to determine your out of network benefits and your deductible.

We currently use Zelle for payments. Zelle may be available through your bank, or you can download the app onto your smartphone. Payments are expected prior to the start of the session.
